The RetroGuard Newsletter

March 31st, 2005

Greetings!

Since the release of RetroGuard-v2.0 last month there are been some minor improvements. These are collected in yesterday's release RetroGuard-v2.0.2 The changes in this release are listed below.

RetroGuard-v2.0.2 Changes

  • The behavior of script entries '!class', '!method' and '!field' has been changed. These statements no longer force obfuscation of package level identifiers, which in v2.0.1 could lead to unexpected behavior such as the obfuscation of package level identifiers while classes in those packages are preserved from obfuscation.
  • Explicit array bounds checking has been added to the code attribute parser used by the auto- Class.forName(...) feature.

Reminder of features new to RetroGuard-v2.0

RetroGuard Dual Licensing

With the upgrade to RetroGuard-v2.0 comes a new licensing format: dual licensing.

  • For commercial users, a commercial license and support agreement is available, currently priced at US$139/year. This license provides commercial support for RetroGuard and assures a standard of performance for the software.
  • For non-commercial users, a GPL (GNU General Public License) version of RetroGuard is available. This can also be used by commercial users during evaluation.

Thanks for using RetroGuard!
